Our Mission

"We are a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the rehabilitation and re-homing of secondhand Dachshunds and small dogs."

1. Our fundamental purpose is to rescue any needy small dog. We evaluate, rehabilitate, train and secure appropriate "forever" homes for Dachshunds and small breeds. Our goal is to find, "forever" homes regardless of former neglect, abuse, abandonment or medical condition.

2. We obtain foster and permanent homes in order to help eliminate current euthanasia practices of Dachshunds and other small breeds. All breeds received by "NOT SO GRANDE" will be fully evaluated for health and hygiene by a licensed vet. They will be spayed / neutered, micro chipped, given current shots and will receive full treatment for any pre existing conditions before placement.

3. Education is a priority for us. We feel it is essential to promote spay and neuter awareness. We require that all applicable pets currently in the foster and/or permanent home, be spayed or neutered. We strive to educate the public of the health benefits of spaying and neutering as well as the high rate of euthanasia nation wide.

4. We are determined to raise public awareness of the Dachshund breed. "NOT SO GRANDE," educates the public regarding canine invertebrate, disk disease, spinal cord injury and daily care of Dachshunds and other small breed dogs.

5."NOT SO GRANDE," appreciates all volunteers, services and financial support. We advocate fellowship amongst rescue groups for the betterment of all domestic pets.
